About Capypix
Small, fast tools for everyday image, PDF, video and data jobs — converting iPhone HEIC photos, shrinking files for email, resizing for a form, removing a photo’s background, turning a clip into a GIF, or turning a JSON export into a spreadsheet.
Why we built it
Most online converters ask you to upload your photos to someone else's server, wait in a queue, and then download the result. That is slow, and it means handing over personal pictures, ID scans and documents to a company you know nothing about. Capypix started from a simple question: can these everyday jobs be done entirely on your own device instead?
Modern browsers turn out to be powerful enough. Every tool on this site runs inside the page you have open. Your files never leave your phone or computer.
How it works
- No uploads. Files are read and processed by your browser. We have no server that receives them, so we cannot see, keep or leak them. Some tools download their processing engine from capypix.com the first time you use them — the background remover’s AI model is about 97 MB — and after that they keep working even if you go offline.
- Open, well-known building blocks. HEIC decoding uses heic-to (based on libheif), PDF creation and merging use pdf-lib, PDF rendering uses Mozilla's PDF.js, video and audio go through Mediabunny and your browser's built-in video codecs, and background removal runs the IS-Net model with ONNX Runtime Web. The full list is on the licenses page.
- No sign-up, no watermarks, no daily limits. Because the work happens on your device, there is no per-file cost for us to pass on to you.
How the site stays free
Capypix shows a small number of ads from Google AdSense. Ads are kept away from the file picker and download buttons so they never get in the way of the tool itself, and they never have access to your files. Details are in the privacy policy.
Who runs it
Capypix is an independent project based in Japan, launched in October 2026. New tools are added over time — recent additions were a background remover, video to GIF, video compression, MP4 to MP3 and JSON to CSV — and suggestions from visitors help decide what comes next.
