  2. Put the pages in order with ↑ and ↓.
  3. Pick a page size and tap Create PDF.

Merging many screenshots into one PDF

Most people who combine PNG files are collecting screenshots: a chat history, a series of payment confirmations, steps of a bug report, or pages of an online course. A few tips keep the result easy to read:

Great for screenshots

Screenshots of chats, receipts, booking confirmations or web pages are usually PNG files. Combining them into one PDF makes them easy to share, print or attach as evidence. If you already have a PDF and want these pages added to it, create a PDF from the screenshots here and join the two with Merge PDF.

Transparent areas in a PNG are placed on a white background, so they look the same in every PDF reader.

Keeping the PDF small

PNG files can be large. Inside the PDF each image is stored as a high-quality JPG of up to 2400 pixels, which usually makes the PDF much smaller than the original PNGs while staying sharp. For a strict upload limit, shrink the images first with Compress Image and add the results here.

Very long scrolling screenshots

Some phones can capture a whole chat or web page as one “scrolling” screenshot, which may be several thousand pixels tall. To keep PDFs a manageable size, every image is limited to 2400 pixels on its longest side. A normal phone screenshot (around 2500 pixels tall) barely changes, but a screenshot 8000 pixels tall is scaled to under a third of its size — and small text becomes hard to read.

If your screenshot is much taller than it is wide, crop it into a few parts of up to about 2400 pixels each before adding them here. Each part then keeps its full width and every line stays sharp, and the parts appear one after another in the PDF.

For screenshots with flat colours and text, quality 88 keeps edges clean; you would have to zoom in a long way to spot any difference. If you need the original PNG pixels untouched, keep the PNG files alongside the PDF. Should you only have the PDF later, PDF to PNG turns its pages back into images, although they will be the slightly compressed versions stored in the PDF.

Frequently asked questions

How do I merge several PNG files into one PDF?

Add all the PNG files, arrange them with the arrow buttons, then tap “Create PDF”. Each PNG becomes one page.

What happens to transparent backgrounds?

Transparent parts become white, because PDF pages are printed on white paper and most readers would show them that way anyway.

Are my files uploaded?

No. Everything happens in your browser on your own device. Nothing is sent to a server.

Will text in my screenshots stay readable?

Yes. Images are kept at up to 2400 pixels on the long side, so a normal phone screenshot is barely reduced and a high-resolution computer screenshot is only slightly scaled down — text stays sharp.

Can I combine PNG and JPG files in the same PDF?

Yes. PNG, JPG, WebP and iPhone HEIC images can be mixed freely; each becomes one page in the order shown in the list.

Why did a long screenshot come out blurry?

Images are limited to 2400 pixels on the longest side, so a very tall scrolling screenshot is shrunk a lot. Crop it into several shorter pieces first and add them in order.

What will the PDF be called?

A single image gives a PDF with the same name as the image. Several images are saved as photos.pdf, which you can rename afterwards.
